Job Description_

The Plant Site Ground Person is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our asphalt plants.

Plant Site Ground Persons are responsible for a variety of tasks including clearing debris from conveyors, helping unload oil and asphalt products, operating the skid steer and loader, and assisting with setting up and tearing down the plant.

We are looking for a hard-working, able-bodied individual that is comfortable operating loaders and skid steers. This job requires travel and regular overtime where crews work 10-day shifts with 4 days off.

Qualifications_

  • Minimum Class 5 Driver's License
  • Be in good physical condition
  • Ability to problemsolve
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Comfortable operating a loader or skid steer is an asset
  • Good understanding of the asphalt paving industry is an asset

Duties & Responsibilities_

  • Cooperate with the Plant Supervisor and Loader Operator
  • Assist in setting up and tearing down the plant site
  • Clearing debris from beneath conveyors
  • Help load and unload oil and other asphalt products
  • Operating loaders & skid steers in a safe and effective manner
  • Participate in the company's safety culture by performing daily safety meetings and equipment inspections
  • Perform various labour and operation tasks as instructed by the Plant Supervisor
