All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2023.

Students must meet the basic requirements of the position.

Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.


Hours:
Varied shifts including evening and weekends, 40 hours per week.

Hourly Wage:
Starting at $18.00 per hour
Term: 4 to 6 months, May to end of August and or September, weather dependent

Reporting to the Marina and Events Coordinator, efficiently carry out the day to day requirements for the orderly administration, maintenance and operations of the Marina.

Act as a Tourism Ambassador, welcoming visitors and the general public in a friendly and courteous manner and to provide tourist information when requested.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee & monitor staff, keep administrative building, other Marina facilities and ground areas cleaned and maintained in accordance with the posted task checklist(s)
  • Assist in the daily supervision of Marina Attendants, assignments, and scheduling in the absence of the Marina and Events Coordinator
  • Complete boat slip agreements, assign slips, maintain internal overhead docking board and keep accurate records of all boats in the marina at any given time
  • Keep marina basin clean of deadheads and other obstacles, keep docking area clean and adjust chains as required
  • Paint and mount name tags and slip numbers as required
  • Monitor the boats moored in the marina to ensure their security well tied and free from vandalism
  • Accountable for selling supplies, collecting fees, handling cash, and maintaining daily deposit slips and balance receipts. Complete any other necessary administrative forms as required
  • Pump gas and perform sewage pumpouts, and take fuel tank pump readings daily
  • Answer the telephone promptly and politely provide information as the need arises
  • Oversee & assist other City employees in daily maintenance and operations as required
  • Assist in security of overall facilities
  • 12 years Marina experience
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR level "C" certification
  • Must display effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Boating experience, Pleasure Craft Operators Card
  • Experience operating a cash register, handling cash, deposit slips and bank deposits
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID19 (two doses) at the time of interview
