_Key Responsibilities_:


  • Daytoday management of the office and direct staff of 2, which includes wearing many hats.
  • Overall responsibility for the weigh scale operation and EVRON software program, including oversight of the Scale Operator.
  • Customer support on salesrelated inquiries, including collaboration with the operating plant.
  • Hands on accounting including preparation of journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and record related party and intercompany transactions, and reconciliation of related intercompany balances.
  • Preparation of financial statements including variance analysis and related reporting for financial and operational purposes.
  • Financial reporting to management, ownership, and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Preparation of monthly forecasts and comparative analysis.
  • Development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ensure yearend reporting is completed and submitted to external accounting firm for review engagements or for tax filing.
  • Monthly GST reconciliations and related remittances.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Help develop business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing the annual budget.
  • Additional ad hoc financial duties and analysis as necessary.

  • Strong accounting systems knowledge, and/or experience with ERP implementation.
  • Ability to embrace change, continually recommend process improvements and maintain confidentiality.

  • Sound direct leadership abilities, combined with the ability to influence without authority.

_Education and Experience_:


  • Diploma/Degree in accounting from a recognized Canadian institution.
  • 5+ years of total accounting and finance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating and reviewing financial statements, analyzing operating results to budget and prior year, and reporting to Senior Management.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
