CKF Inc.

has six manufacturing facilities located across Canada, and one in the USA with a total workforce in excess of 900 employees.

Our operations produce foam, plastic and molded pulp products including disposable tableware, egg cartons, four-cup carriers, display containers, and a wide variety of other products for the food service industry.

The Rexdale location is seeking Secondary Grinder/Packers working in our Extrusion Department.

12 hour continental shift schedule (2 weeks on day shift, 2 weeks on night shift)

General Responsibilities

Perform a forklift safety check at the start of each shift and submit the completed Forklift Daily Check List report.

Put away the finished goods in the designated staging areas.

Put away the packaging and production supplies in the designated storage areas.

Keep the storage areas for WIP, packaging and production supplies clean and organized.

Provide the Thermoforming, Printing and Padding lines with the correct WIP, packaging and production supplies.

Ensure there is a two hour supply of these items at each running line at the end of the shift.

Ensure the correct Shop Floor transaction is entered on the handheld unit for every bin transfer of finished goods and WIP.

Document all Shop Floor discrepancies and submit them to the Lead Hand or Supervisor immediately.

Cycle count the WIP and packaging as assigned.

Remove HFI items, scrap cardboard and broken pallets from the production areas and put them in the designated areas.

Maintain and change the forklift battery in the last two hours of the shift.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Applicants must have good attendance and safety record.
Demonstrated good work ethics.
Excellent communication and written skills.
Applicants with a valid Forklift license will be given preference.
Applicants need to be aware that there might be potential shift changes to balance out production needs.
