    Reports To : Senior Manager, ESG Reporting

    Position Summary: CAPREIT is looking for an Analyst, who will be making important contributions to CAPREIT's growing commitment to ESG and related reporting. This role will report into the Senior Manager, ESG working in close coordination with the department peers responsible for sustainability and social impact programs.

    The successful candidate will ideally have experience in Sustainability and an understanding on ESG reporting and disclosures, with a specific focus on GRESB. As this is an area which is developing rapidly, we are looking for someone who embraces change and can adapt to new requirements easily and with enthusiasm. The candidate will bring in and demonstrate a strong passion in sustainability and will contribute to CAPREIT's overall ESG practice.

    Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage with internal teams in identifying and capturing ESG data.
  • Assist in drafting of content for CAPREIT's annual ESG report based on GRI, SASB, TCFD.
  • Support in other public disclosure-related reports, ratings, and surveys following global standards such as GRESB.
  • Contribute to drafting sustainability/ESG content and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at various capacities.
  • Support and/or manage innovative ESG integration projects to support CAPREIT's objectives.
  • Support the development of CAPREIT's ESG policies, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Support the integration of ESG into CAPREIT's overall Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Support the ESG data automation and relevant integration using IT tools.
  • Support process improvement pertaining to ESG data capture, reporting, and the development of appropriate controls.
  • Other duties as directed, including project management assignments on reporting process.

    • Professional Requirements:

  • University degree in sustainability, environmental science/management, or other relevant disciplines with a basic knowledge of commercial real estate industry.
  • 2-4 years of work-related experience in ESG space is required.
  • Specific experience in ESG Reporting and GRESB submission is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, social, and environmental issues with a preference for climate change expertise.
  • Postgraduate degree and/or sustainability-related designation would be valued.
  • High level of competency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
