General Summary:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) reporting to the Senior Director of Wellness, you will act as the primary care provider for the assigned region, working within the scope of practice defined by the regulatory body.
Your role involves collaborating with the wellness team to develop and assess residents' care plans, providing leadership, mentorship, and ensuring compliance with regional medical protocols.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Initiate treatment plans, healthcare management, and prescribe medications within regulatory standards
Offer professional guidance to health professionals and work autonomously within an interdisciplinary team
Provide primary care to residents, identify health trends, and collaborate with peers for optimal resident outcomes
Participate in peer reviews, collaborate with healthcare providers, and assist in challenging clinical situations
Conduct resident assessments, prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and ensure timely documentation
Participate in team education, provide feedback to wellness nurses, and implement evidence-based care practices
Job Specifications:
Education:
Registered Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
Recent clinical nursing experience
Experience:
Minimum 3 years as a Nurse Practitioner
Knowledge & Abilities:
Full scope of NP duties, pharmacological knowledge, effective communication with residents and families, critical thinking skills, and team leadership abilities
