COMMUNITY INCLUSION SUPPORT WORKER


Brampton Caledon Community Living is seeking a part-time Community Inclusion Support Worker to support children and youth with autism between the ages of 9 to 17.

The Community Inclusion Support Worker will assist children/youth to participate in a variety of social, recreational, and educational activities to enhance their skills, independence, and inclusion in the community while providing out-of-home respite support to families.


_ Position Expectations_:


  • Ensure the support provided to children/youth is respectful of their dignity, rights, and emotional and physical wellbeing.
  • Promote safe, healthy, and enhancing environments for the children/youth.
  • Inspire children's and youth's inclusion and participation in the community through the establishment of relationships, and the development of social, recreational, leisure, cultural, educational, and communitybased activities.
  • Focus on the personal strengths and interests of the children/youth and be able to plan and implement meaningful communitybased activities.
  • Provide a fun and exciting learning environment where children/youth can grow socially.

_Qualifications:
_


  • 12 years of related experience is preferable.
  • DSW, SSW, CYW, ECE-Advanced Studies in Special Needs, related diploma/degree.
  • Ability to relate to children or youth with an intellectual disability and a deep commitment to inclusion and the values of community living.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; sound decisionmaking skills; excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong creative planning skills.
- ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • An uptodate, clear police record & vulnerable sector check.
  • A Class G Ontario license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • An uptodate acceptable driver's abstract and hold 1 million in liability insurance.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.

_ Hours of Work:
_

Tuesday and Thursday, 3 pm-8 pm

Sunday (once a month): 12 pm-4 pm


_March Break_:
Monday-Friday, 9 am.4 pm.


_Summer Camps:
_
July: 2 weeks, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 pm

August: 2 weeks Monday through Friday 9 am - 4 pm.
