JOB OVERVIEW

Welcomes guests to the restaurant and provides fast and courteous service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience and repeat business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets guests in a prompt and courteous manner; seat guests ensuring a balanced workload among servers. Maintain an accurate waiting list as needed. Alert guests when the table is available.
Assists Manager or Supervisor with opening tasks such as assigning stations to servers for meal periods and retrieving daily specials.
Processes takeout orders; may answer room service phone and process room service orders; practices suggestive selling techniques.
Receives customer payment from servers and processes transactions on the cash register as outlined in the cash and charge procedures; gives correct change; balances cash drawer at the close of shift; completes all opening/closing paperwork; documents voids on the void balance sheet.
May assist bus persons in clearing, cleaning, and setting tables.
Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Always provides a professional image through appearance and dress.
Perform other duties as assigned. In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Brand Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Basic reading, writing, and math skills and 6 months of cash handling experience or food service preferred.

This job requires the ability to perform the following:

Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
Remain stationary for extended periods
Moving about the restaurant
Handling food objects, plates, trays, glasses etc.
Bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting

Other:

Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, describing cocktail items, completing paperwork, etc.
Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
