JOB OVERVIEW

Welcomes guests to the restaurant and provides fast and courteous service to ensure an enjoyable dining experience and repeat business.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets guests in a prompt and courteous manner; seat guests ensuring a balanced workload among servers. Maintain an accurate waiting list as needed. Alert guests when the table is available.
  • Assists Manager or Supervisor with opening tasks such as assigning stations to servers for meal periods and retrieving daily specials.
  • Processes takeout orders; may answer room service phone and process room service orders; practices suggestive selling techniques.
  • Receives customer payment from servers and processes transactions on the cash register as outlined in the cash and charge procedures; gives correct change; balances cash drawer at the close of shift; completes all opening/closing paperwork; documents voids on the void balance sheet.
  • May assist bus persons in clearing, cleaning, and setting tables.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Always provides a professional image through appearance and dress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Brand Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Basic reading, writing, and math skills and 6 months of cash handling experience or food service preferred.

This job requires the ability to perform the following:

  • Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Remain stationary for extended periods
  • Moving about the restaurant
  • Handling food objects, plates, trays, glasses etc.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting

Other:

  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, describing cocktail items, completing paperwork, etc.
  • Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
