Litigation Assistant - Greater Sudbury, Canada - WEAVER, SIMMONS LLP
Description
Weaver, Simmons LLP is seeking a Litigation Assistant to join our Sudbury office. The individual will be working with a Litigation Lawyer, whose practice is primarily focused on Civil Litigation.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Corresponding with clients and other law offices as required and document preparation, including pleadings, trial records, and transcription of reports on examination for discoveries;
- Scheduling appointments and meetings;
- Opening and closing files;
- Clerical support;
- Preparation of affidavits of documents, and compiling and service of interlocutory materials;
- Preparing client invoices\accounts; and
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Maintaining confidentiality;
- High attention to detail;
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively;
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently and within a team environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual is an asset);
- High reliability and accuracy;
- Highly organized; and
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe software, as well as Zoom and other virtual platforms.

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Greater Sudbury, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- legal assistant: 1 year (preferred)
