Description
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Recreation Programs, the Coordinator, Recreation Programs is responsible for effectively planning, administering, delivering and supervising various recreation programs for preschool, children, youth, adults and older adults; including drop-in activities, accessible recreation opportunities and day camp programs.
The Coordinator, Recreation Programs is the first point of contact for all part-time staff. Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day activities in this business unit while ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.Responsibilities:
Researches, plans and coordinates general programs, special events, services and displays related to recreation programs.
Leads and makes recommendations for part-time staff, including recruitment and performance management. Ensures appropriate staff training and provides coaching and guidance for continuous improved performance.
Liases with community organizations to develop recreation opportunities for residents.
Contributes to marketing and promotional materials for recreation programs, including the Recreation and Culture guide, brochures, social media posts, etc.
Assists in the delivery of building needs and maintenance, including recreation equipment inspections, inventory and documentation.
Qualifications:
Requires a post-secondary degree or diploma in Recreation or a related field
Requires current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification
Requires 3 years of experience in a recreation setting, including a direct programming role plus 1-2 years of experience overseeing part-time staff duties and responsibilities
Ability to provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Check
Must be capable of setting priorities and multi-tasking in a busy environment
Proficiency required in registration, booking and membership information and reporting software
Salary:
$52, $66,225.20, plus employer paid benefits and OMERS pension plan
Hours: 35 hours per week
Start Date:
March 6, 2023
