Nature & Scope:

The Team Lead, Youth Programs is responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of
the Brockville YMCA's youth programing. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery and
oversight of high-quality, values-based programs and for providing strong leadership, coaching and
modelling to staff and volunteers to ensure a positive experience for participants.


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver and oversee all youth programs
  • Communicate effectively with YMCA staff as well as parents and guardians as needed to
ensure a positive experience for youth participants, members, and staff

  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of Youth Program staff and volunteers in
coordination with the Regional Supervisor, Youth and Camp Programs

  • Provides direction, support and mentoring to Youth Program staff
  • Maintain records and complete reporting in a timely fashion in accordance with YMCA
standards and funding requirements

  • Maintain open communication with the Regional Supervisor, Youth and Camp Programs to
address any needs or areas of concern

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in a related field or combination of education and experience
relevant to the position

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working direction with youth
  • Knowledge of harm reduction and mental health first aid
  • Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than
120 days prior to interview, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" certifications
