What we seek:


OCHC is currently seeking a dedicated Parking Services Coordinator, this role is the primary contact for Ottawa Community Housing's (OCH) Parking Program and is responsible for delivering a high standard of customer service.

Under the guidance of, Manager, Community Safety Services Operations, the Parking Services Coordinator will ensure that requests are in accordance with established guidelines and that the team provides a professional response to these requests.

In addition to the regular duties of a Parking Representative, the Coordinator provides feedback and coaching to the Parking Represenattives.

As a Parking Services Coordinator,
you will be a trusted friend and ally to our tenants and will help to bring our objective into reality by supporting our communities with their parking related concerns.

As a Parking Services Coordinator,
some of the things you will do include:
  • Receives and assesses escalated parking tickets in accordance with established processes and guidelines; escalates more complex matters to the Manager as required
  • Receives and assesses eligibility for exemptions to paid parking program based on established processes and guidelines
  • Gathers, enters and tracks data and ensures the updating of related reports
  • Monitors and confirms adherence with parking program rules and guidelines, working with external contractors and escalating issues as required
  • Liaises with the City of Ottawa and external contractor to cancel tickets where appropriate
  • Calls tenants and administers quality and satisfaction surveys
  • Updates and ensures accuracy of parking information in parking databases and OCH housing management system
  • Suggests and implements improvements and efficiencies in OCH parking operations and processes
  • Provides training to new Parking Representatives and identifies training opportunities, gaps and initiatives to facilitate staff development
  • Ensures that work of the team is performed in alignment with legislative requirements and OCH values, protocols, directives and policies
  • Investigates and responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints related to the work of the team and ensures proper documentation and follow up
  • Reviews reports in a timely manner. Follows up with employees as required and brings unusual or exceptional circumstances to the attention of the Manager, Community Safety Services.
  • Supports the achievement of the vision and mandate established for Community Safety Services (CSS).
  • Uses strategic conflict resolution strategies and community based problemsolving to deescalate complex situations and resolve issues within the team or with clients.
  • Ensures that work is performed in a safe manner in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and OCH policies.
  • Reports in a timely manner all workplace accidents or incidents and ensures that appropriate documentation is completed.
  • Promptly reports workplace accidents or incidents and unusual or dangerous work conditions
  • Works in alignment with OCH vision, mission, values, interests, plans and objectives

Internal / External Accountabilities

  • Builds effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensures the delivery of a high standard of customer service
  • Represents OCH in a professional manner and treats workrelated contacts with respect and courtesy
  • Works in collaboration with other staff in a team approach to service delivery
  • Performs work in accordance with applicab
