    Heidelberg Materials is looking for reliable, safety-conscious, and trustworthy Labourers to become part of our local team. As a Labourer, you will contribute to ensuring a secure and efficient work environment at the plant. This role offers the chance to utilize diverse skills daily, get acquainted with the aggregate industry, and cover for absences in different plant areas.

    Responsibilities

    • Operate mobile machinery within the plant premises (e.g., loader, haul truck, water truck)
    • Maintain cleanliness in plant work zones
    • Support plant operations such as lubrication, maintenance, and repairs
    • Transport materials to/from storage and shop areas
    • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, along with company policies; assist in physical plant property/department inspections.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED certificate is a must
    • Prior experience in an open pit mine is advantageous
    • Familiarity with (or eagerness to learn) using plant mobile equipment
    • Team player attitude, ready to collaborate effectively
    • Ability to work safely and autonomously with minimal supervision
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Willingness to learn on the job
    • Aptitude to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Physically fit to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., stand/sit for long periods, kneel, climb, and walk on various terrains
    • Flexibility to work varied hours, holidays, and overtime as needed
