Description

Sonic Milling Systems is seeking a Food Safety Analyst to join our new team and help to produce products at our innovative food and beverage processing facility.

We are a burgeoning company currently producing plant-based beverages.


You'll be responsible for various tasks including, the development and implementation of food safety programs and procedures, creation of SOPs and reports, and working with the production team to ensure food safety and quality concerns are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HACCP and Food Safety Management Programs
  • Verification and monitoring of the aforementioned plans
  • Creation of product quality reports, documents etc.
  • Participation on audit preparation and traceability exercises
  • Part takes in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of Environmental Monitoring Programs
  • Assist Production as required regarding food safety and quality concerns.
  • Ability to work in an aseptic manner and train others in sanitary practices
  • Ensure product is compliant with internal standards
  • Stay up to date on SFCR standards

Qualifications

  • A degree/diploma in a Science related discipline (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biological, Food Science, Biotechnology) or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education
  • Knowledge/experience of HACCP/GMP is required
  • Knowledge/experience with CFIA and SFCR is considered an asset
  • Knowledge/experience of GFSI Standards is considered an asset (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000 etc.)
  • Preexposure to laboratory tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Experience in the creation and development of SOPs and records

Salary:
$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

1 year (preferred)
