Job Summary

As a Clinical Veterinarian for our facilities located in Laval , you will work with a multi-disciplinary team including dedicated laboratory animal veterinarians and will contribute to a wide range of stimulating and diversified activities.

Your contribution will be essential to our mission as we support the full drug discovery and development spectrum.

In this role, key responsibilities may include:
Provide optimal medical care, diagnosis, and treatments
Collaborate with members of our professional team over a wide range of discipline
Provide professional expertise for guidance on procedures and techniques involving animals
Review and optimize animal monitoring and SOPs related to animal care
Be a member of our animal ethic committee and lend your expertise to evaluate all procedures performed on animals before studies begin

Key Elements
We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

Good teamwork and communication skills
Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable.
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine
Valid OMVQ licence

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

Schedule:
Mostly daytime Monday to Friday. Depending on the needs, you will have to do evening, night, and weekend rotation on call.

About Safety Assessment

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.

From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.

Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
