    look no further Caring for others is what we do Southbridge Care Homes are currently looking for an energetic enthusiastic Director of Care to provide leadership to the Nursing Team at our Home.

    This individual will ensure our residents receive quality care, a safe place to live and ongoing, respectful communication.

    The eligible individual will enhance the effective management of quality nursing practices in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies, internal policies, and standards of care.

    We are looking for a Director of Care that is passionate about working in long term care.

    Leads in the coordination and implementation of best practices and risk management initiatives related to resident care needs and the Home;
    Maintains a system of care assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation at the resident and unit program level;
    Effectively manages utilization of nursing supplies;
    Presents an active presence/mentoring staff and overseeing the provision of quality care;
    works with WSIB claims and return to work plans (preferred);
    Able to initiate investigations/CIS's/follow up with staff/families initiated to ensure risks are identified/addressed with interventions/documentation updated/ongoing diligence with Home/MOL is completed as per the regulations;
    A serving heart and a passion for caring for seniors.
    Demonstrated experience with WSIB management and other aspects of Occupational Health and Safety.
    Experience with falls and harm reduction strategies is an asset.
    Previous similar experience in long-term care an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
    Developed creative problem solving skills to look at the "big picture".
