The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) is a fully accredited healthcare organization located in the beautiful community of Goderich on the shores of Lake Huron. AMGH is the largest provider of acute care hospital services in Huron County. With an annual budget of $25M, AMGH offers a range of services including 24 hour emergency, intensive care, obstetrics, general surgery, inpatient adult psychiatry and multi-site community mental health. The South Huron Hospital Association (SHHA) was established in 1953 and serves a wide catchment area, including the Municipality of South Huron and its adjacent communities. Located in a small, rural community, we are proud to offer a 24/7 Emergency Department. With 19 inpatient beds, we provide acute, rehabilitation, and complex continuing inpatient care. Position Description

This position is responsible for promoting evidence-based practice, ensuring high-quality patient care, and supporting the professional development and growth of nursing staff.

The Clinical Practice Educator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive orientation programs for newly hired nurses. The position plays a vital role in the success of new nurses within the organization.

By providing comprehensive support and education during the crucial early stages, this role contributes to building a skilled and confident nursing workforce that delivers high-quality patient care.

This position will involve both didactic and clinical teaching.

Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN).
  • Minimum 8 years clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Strong knowledge of nursing best practices, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make datadriven decisions.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and healthcare technology.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying uptodate with nursing best practices.

Required Skills:


  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise to nursing staff, guiding them in delivering safe and effective patient care. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement best practices that improve patient outcomes.
  • Designing and implementing educational programs and training sessions for nurses to enhance their clinical skills and keep them updated with the latest healthcare trends and technologies.
  • Promoting evidencebased practice by incorporating the latest research and best available evidence into nursing protocols and procedures.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in nursing care and patient outcomes, and leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality of care provided by the nursing team.
  • Collaborating with nursing leadership and other stakeholders to develop, review, and update nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Leading, monitoring and evaluating the onboarding and orientation of nursing staff, providing feedback, and assisting in the development of performance improvement plans where necessary.
