Vancouver Fire, Radius Security and National Fire is a Life Safety and Security provider operating from Victoria to Ottawa and in Texas, USA; _our purpose is to make safe communities_.

Vancouver Fire has been in operation in the Lower Mainland since 1948 and is a full-service Fire Protection company specializing in inspections, maintenance as well as repair and installation work for commercial buildings.

Radius Security is a Video Surveillance/Electronic Security provider and operates its own, in-house ULC Certified Command Center.

National Fire & Safety Planners provides fire safety plans, fire training and signage primarily in the construction and property management market.

The
Health & Safety Specialist is empowered to develop the safety culture across the organization.

The role is primarily based in Richmond, BC. Occasional travel may be required to our Alberta and Ontario offices.

We are flexible.

This role is a new addition to our team, so we are open to the following options:

Contractor basis (require at least 24 hours/week)_

Permanent part-time (require at least 24 hours/week), could expand into a permanent full-time role in the future_

Weekly hours may vary depending on requirements and projects. To be discussed further in the interview process.

Core Accountabilities_

  • Ensure the completion of 2023 safety strategic goals by the end of the year (key priorities: get COR certified, revamp the safety committee, meeting regulations as per WorkSafe BC and other local regulations for other units)
  • Participate in the H&S committee this includes: involvement in the monthly safety committee meetings, ensuring the H&S team takes required training, hold the team accountable for driving safety improvements, communicating updates to applicable departments.
  • Conduct regular safety talks with departments (this includes leveraging internal stories & seeking out external speakers)
  • Conduct site visits to educate on safety, solicit feedback from team members on safety concerns, and ensure safety measures are being adhered to
  • Maintain training tracker and enrolling staff for applicable training
  • Hold managers accountable for completion of safety improvements
  • Create a calendar for regular safety audits and ensure actions are taken and communicated
