D U T I E S
The Maintenance Assistant, under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager or their
designated representative, will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations and
maintenance of RRC Polytech's Notre Dame Campus, as well as other RRC Polytech properties.
In this capacity, the Maintenance Assistant will collaborate with and assist various trades and will
also be responsible for independently performing minor repairs and maintenance on building
equipment and systems.

  • R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate; other combinations of education and experience may be

- considered
  • Several years experience in building maintenance
  • Knowledge and practical experience in the areas of mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and

- painting
  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning
and continuous improvement

  • Experience working within a work order system
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Training in safety procedures (confined space, fall protection, First Aid & C.P.R.)
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • C O N D I T I O N S O F E M P L O Y M E N T
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work overtime
  • This position may be required to travel
  • Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License
  • Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check
  • Incumbent must be phsically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the
- position. A medical certificate from a certified physician is required
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
