Job Description:
PPB Analytical Inc., a leading environmental testing laboratory, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Testing Lab Analyst to join our dynamic team.
As an Environmental Testing Lab Analyst, you will play a crucial role in performing accurate and timely analysis of environmental samples to assess their quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
You will work with a wide range of analytical techniques and instrumentation to ensure the reliability and integrity of test results.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine ISO17025 and nonroutine environmental testing on various sample types, including water, soil, air, and other environmental matrices.
- Follow established protocols and methodologies to perform analyses, including sample preparation, extraction, instrumental analysis, and data interpretation.
- Operate and maintain a variety of analytical instruments and equipment, such as gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (LC), mass spectrometry (MS), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), ICPMS and other relevant instrumentation.
- Perform quality control checks on instruments and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and calibrate instruments as necessary.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Record, analyze, and report data using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other software tools.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support research and development projects, method development, and validation activities.
- Participate in proficiency testing, interlaboratory comparisons, and audits to maintain accreditation and uphold the highest standards of quality assurance.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and other relevant records.
- Stay abreast of new developments, trends, and regulations in the field of environmental testing and suggest process improvements or technological advancements to enhance laboratory efficiency and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. Master's degree is preferred.
- Previous experience working in an environmental testing laboratory or similar analytical laboratory setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations, methodologies, and analytical techniques commonly used in environmental testing (e.g., EPA methods, ASTM standards).
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting analytical instruments, such as GC, LC, MS, AAS, and other relevant equipment.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with a keen eye for identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to accurately document procedures, present data, and collaborate with team members.
