- Ensuring that patentable inventions are recognized and protected.
- Advising clients and securing appropriate IP protection and preparing and filing patent applications.
- Conducting IP audits and due diligence for investors in intellectual property and businesses with IP assets.
- Arranging validity and infringement reviews and patent watch services.
- Prosecuting patent applications through to grant.
- Drafting arguments to advocate clients' positions, with reference to case law.
- Qualified Canadian Patent Agent with at least two years' post qualification experience.
- Recognized degree in science, chemistry, biochemistry and/or biology.
- Patent drafting, filing and prosecution.
- Demonstrable technical excellence.
- The ability to assume responsibility for client relationships.
- The ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Highly motivated; proactive with a drive to develop the practice.
- Excellent time and portfolio management skills.
