Precise Tool & Die Limited is looking for a Press Set-Up Operator to join our team


We are located in Whitby, minutes from the 401 and we are a global supplier to the automotive, consumer products, and defense industries.

We specialize in precision tooling, stampings, and assembled components.

This is a full-time, permanent day-shift position reporting to the Production Supervisor.


Responsibilities:


  • Follow all company safety procedures;
  • Setup, operate, and adjust metal stamping presses as needed to ensure proper tooling, press equipment, and the required materials with the correct specifications are used for quality production;
  • Measure and examine products and complete the quality control procedures as required in the setup procedure and the production work order before they're packaged to ensure they meet company and customers quality standards;
  • Monitor and control machines as required in the production work order to maintain daily and weekly production schedule;
  • Ensure work environment remains safe, uncluttered, clean, and wellmaintained by performing maintenance and general clean up duties throughout shift as time allows;
  • Engage in continuing education training and seminars to remain uptodate on the latest industry techniques, machines, safety regulations, and equipment;
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain assigned machines and equipment as needed for maximum product quality and operational efficiency;
  • Record all problems and product nonconformances and report to the Supervisor;
  • Other responsibilities that may be assigned as required.

Job Skills & Qualifications:


  • Education Required: Secondary (high) school graduation diploma or GED;
Previous Experience Required: 1 year as a Press Set-up Operator, Preferred: 5 years;

  • Skills Required: previous experience in process control, GD&T, reading drawings and use of measuring, gauging tools;
  • Weight Handling: Able to lift 35 pounds;
  • Basic knowledge of repairing and maintaining manufacturing machines;
  • Good physical condition.
