Summary of Duties:

Role:

Under the direction of the park supervisor, volunteers will be required to dress in costume and provide an interactive Halloween experience for young families visiting Storybook Gardens.

Duties include working cooperatively with other staff and volunteers to provide excellent customer service to children and families while facilitating a Halloween station or handing out candy on our treat or treat trail.

Volunteers must have a high level of comfort working with children in a busy outdoor setting.

Work Performed Volunteer Responsibilities**:

Comfortable dressing up in costume and working outdoors in the evening.
Assist with simple décor setup and take down.
Ensure a clean and safe program activity area.
Comfortable working independently.
Demonstrate commitment to antiracism, antioppression, and human rights through practices and interactions with community partners, employees and individuals and support programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment.
Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety.
Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience

Current high school student or mature adult.
Enjoys Halloween and working with young children.
Requires current Police Reference Check satisfactory to the City of London for all volunteers 18 years or older.
Completion of volunteer training on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Ability to demonstrate good communication, high energy, enthusiasm and continued positive attitude.
Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
High level of comfort in fast paced public facing environments.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
