Overview:
The Freight Administrator ensures the integrity of the information in SAP as it pertains to freight. The administrator must maintain a strong working relationship and open communication with carriers, sales

teams, logistics/distribution team and plant operations personnel to assist and support the following key activities: A) Maintain carrier rates and fuel surcharge up to date in SAP; B) Manage shipment cost corrections and carrier payment reconciliations; C) Validate and process waiting time and accessorial charges in SAP; D) Manage the Unbilled report and work with other teams to ensure that month-end targets are maintained.


Responsibilities:


Safety:


  • Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example and participation with others to drive the development of safety initiatives within the cement supply chain network.
  • Adheres to all Lafarge safety policies and procedures.

Systems & Data Management:


  • Ensures the integrity of the information in the system (SAP) as it relates to freight.
  • Provide support by providing SAP information, maintain rates up to date, enter monthly fuel surcharge, PO creation/changes.
  • Be involved into processing carrier waiting time and accessorial charges.
  • Provide support to carriers with payment disputes and reconciliations.
  • This task includes validating and disputing charges when necessary.

Reporting:


  • Communicate and monitor the freight data performance accordingly with the Logistics Transportation team Monitor the unbilled report daily and work with the CVC Supervisor to ensure that all shipments have a freight rate in SAP.
  • Update and maintain the freight KPI's Dashboard report and work with branch plants, sales team and the CVC, to maintain monthend targets.
  • Provide support with the Open Preload process.
  • Oversee the open preload report. Work with carriers and branch plants to ensure preloads are completed in a timely manner.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for Finance in relation to logistics data.

Process Improvement:


  • Identifies opportunities for improvement, puts actions plans in place, create reports to measure progress and implement follow up tools in relation to onroad carrier performance.
  • Creates and implements continuous performing business data analysis to support decision making process.

Relationships with Others Jobs:


  • High level of interaction with Sales teams, Transportation Manager, Freight Supervisor and Finance teams.
  • High level of interaction with CVC, Terminals and Plants.

Qualifications:
**_

Education and Work Experience:
_**- 2 to 3 years of general business or logistics/supply chain experience preferred.

  • Logistics certification preferred.
  • Experience with Google Docs, SAP and asset.

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Demonstrate strong skills in problem solving, decision making and multitasking.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with intermediate levels of management (Directors through end users).
  • Experience working and administrating databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Time management and selfmanagement skills including the ability to redefine priorities based on demand.
  • Strong sense of teamwork.
