Job Summary

The Machine Operator - Order Picker is responsible for using an MHE to pick orders and tasks. The use of Reach, Double Reach, Walkie and/or other MHE will be considered an asset.

Essential Job Functions

  • Efficiently pick orders and tasks and meet KPIs targets.
  • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
  • Pick tasks and locate cases to proper zone for put away or loading.
  • Transact cases and/or pallet to proper location/zone on assigned task.
  • Pick orders and tasks accurately according to quantity and SKU per RF or pick ticket.
  • Build pallets with case pulls and locate properly to loading dock for shipping.
  • Follow proper shipping guidelines for internal and external customers.
  • Wrapping and weighing pallets, adding shipping labels.
  • Perform RF functions and conduct relocations, consolidations, etc.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
Open bales, crates and other containers when needed.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained and operated in safe manner.
  • Inspect and report on any equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or processed through a computer.
  • May also assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, sweep, dust, and mop.
  • Conduct daily cleanup or assigned aisle.
Comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Support and follow internal health and safety programs and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience

  • Secondary diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a large warehouse facility an asset.
Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 12 years of operating a forklift.
Valid forklift certification, specifically Order Picker machine.

  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management System (Manhattan) including being proficient with RF scanners and equipment is an asset.
  • Communication skills written, verbal and ability to read and understand internal documents.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
