Position:
Youth Justice Worker - Permanent, Full Time

Location:
Youth Justice - Youth Services Program - White Rock, BC


Hours: 35 hours/week


We are looking for a Youth Justice Worker to join our Sources Youth Justice team This individual must be an independent team player, have a passion for working with youth, and have a good understanding of culturally safe, trauma informed, and strength-based approaches.

Description of position


General Responsibilities:


  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain records, write session notes, and complete monthly reports.
  • This is an outreach position which requires a flexible schedule
  • Complete various program related administration tasks
  • Ability to professionally liaise with community partners

Program Specific Responsibilities:


  • Must have experience working with youth on probation and/or involved with the criminal justice system.
  • Working knowledge of mental health concerns, including common diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, FASD, substance abuse.
  • Training and ability to work from a culturally safe, trauma informed, harm reduction perspective an asset.
  • Training in Indigenous Cultural Safety an asset (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Ability to work in professionally and in collaboration with youth and MCFD staff

Qualifications:


  • Possess an undergraduate degree, ideally in Child and Youth Care, Youth Justice, or related.
  • Use of a vehicle that is safe and passes inspection.
  • Effectively utilize Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and central data systems
  • Effectively communicate professionally, verbally and written in English
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Criminal Records check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General Criminal Records Review
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and driver's abstract

Salary:
$27.81/hour
