- The Friends_ is recruiting Independent Living Assistants (I.L.A.) in the Parry Sound area. If you are looking for meaningful work to make a difference in the lives of others, give us a call. I.L.A.'s provide service to individuals with physical disabilities and/or seniors by supporting them with personal care, activities of daily living and encouraging/facilitating client ability to live independently.
- The Friends_ provide community support through a variety of programs. As an I.L.A. you will have a flexible work schedule with a diverse group of clients allowing you to develop a broad range of skills in your career development. You choose the setting in which you work with the option to cross train in other programs. Whether you work onsite in our housing program or visit individual client homes in the community, educational opportunities and a comprehensive on the job training program with our dedicated team will contribute to your success. Qualifications:
- interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
- background/training in health related field is an asset but not necessary
- understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
- excellent physical strength and stamina
- ability to work with direction and independently
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
- reliable vehicle

$19.00-$22.00 per hour
