Mental Health Well-Being at Medcan Clinic

Mental well-being is a critical component of overall wellness.

  • Psychologist specializing in Child & Youth (for patients 17 and younger)
  • Psychologist specializing in Relationship counselling (Marital and Family Therapist)


For example, Medcan has created a new mental health assessment: the "Mind Station" as part of its comprehensive Annual Health Assessment (AHA) to help facilitate meaningful conversations about one's mental health, to propose strategies and provide resources to address obstacles to good mind health and performance and to detect mental illness and intervene early.

Memory and cognitive health are also screened.


The Role:


Medcan is recruiting for licensed FT/PT Clinical Psychologists to join our high-performing and fast-growing team of 9 clinicians within our Mental Health program.

The Adult Clinical Psychologist will have the opportunity to see clients for ongoing care within their Medcan practice, both in person (either at our Toronto or Oakville clinics) and virtual.


The Accountabilities:

  • Conducting independent diagnostic assessments; providing diagnoses and recommendations for ongoing treatment as appropriate
  • Developing and communicating clientcentered treatment plans that meet both client goals and address the client's psychosocial and behavioural challenges
  • Collaborating with the client's existing internal and external treatment team to coordinate care
  • Maintaining documentation as required
  • Provide exceptional client experience and clientcentered care
  • Follow Medcan procedures for all documentation, timelines, coordination with internal teams and follow up care
  • Adhere to standards of best practice

The Requirements:

  • Ph.
D. in Clinical Psychology or Psy.
D

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Strict adherence to the College of Psychologists of Ontario's Standards of Professional Conduct
  • Demonstrable skill with empirically validated treatment measures and training including experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Clinical experience with adults 18+
  • Superior organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to respectfully and tactfully interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Couples and/or Family Counselling an asset
  • Proficient in

This is an Independent Contractor role that reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
