Applications are invited for the position of Academic Business Manager in the Health Sciences and Community, Justice and Fitness Studies Divisions, located at the Welland Campus.

This position is temporary and approximate dates of the appointment are August 2024 through April 2026. The salary range is $76,029 to $95,038 for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing, hiring part time faculty and part time support staff as designated by the Dean
  • Maintaining and reporting on divisional and funded projects budgets
  • Coordinating facilities and equipment upgrading/replacement processes
  • Coordinating material fee and other program related purchasing
  • Assist the Dean and Associate Dean(s) in the development and management of budgets
  • Responsible to the Dean for ensuring capital and operating funds are effectively managed and processes and controls meet college standards
  • Develops in conjunction with the Dean and Associate Dean(s) program planning activities related to research projects and other special activities within the division

Qualifications:


  • Three (3) year diploma/degree in business operations, finance or similar field of study
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an academic environment or related field
  • Demonstrated financial and budget management skills
  • Proven networking and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage confidential files and information
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize within a multifaceted work environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
