Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Community Fundraising & Events (BC), the Coordinator, Program Development (BC) is responsible for fundraising through the coordination, execution and delivery of events and programs at the local level, ensuring that these meet or exceed revenue targets.


Location:
W 8th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V9.

Flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule, working remotely and the opportunity to work in-office.

The employee will be a member of the BCGEU (British Columbia Government & Service Employees' Union).


This role includes, but not limited to:


Fundraising/Revenue Generation:


  • Meet/exceed annual fundraising goals through the coordination and execution of various fundraising events and programs in alignment with regional and national plans.
  • Work in a collaborative teambased approach on national campaigns, community event sponsorships (golf, gala, mission based), third partyinitiated campaigns and local communitybased events to ensure programs are executed in alignment with business goals and targeted objectives.
  • Identify and maximize event revenue generation opportunities through creative avenues such as sponsorship, ticket sales, silent auctions. Solicit sponsors for fundraising events such as golf, gala, and mission driven programs.

Corporate/Community Engagement and Networking:


  • In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Volunteer Engagement, solicit, leverage, and engage volunteers to support, initiate and facilitate events Source and cultivate strategic partnerships with third party organizations to host fundraising events and programs with proceeds benefiting Diabetes Canada.
  • Engage, network and support third party events through sharing of resources, tools, and best practices with internal and external teams.

Event Management:


  • Leverage creativity and event expertise to collaborate with the regional and national teams to identify fundraising events
  • Develop implementation plans to maximize outcomes and execute at the local level
  • Evaluate return on investment and implement improvements to achieve higher impact and return at future events
  • Anticipate and plan for future events, trends, problems, and opportunities
  • Explore existing community initiatives as potential opportunities
  • Relevant postsecondary education
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in nonprofit, fundraising, sales, event coordination, and/or marketing
  • People and volunteer management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Achievementorientated, goalsetter, must be flexible and responsive
  • Ability to set and achieve business and team goals
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative relationshipbuilding abilities
  • Proficient with MS, Office suite of products, Teams
  • Experience with database management (Blackbaud CRM an asset)
