Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Meat Cutter to join our team. As the Head


Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the meat cutting department, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality products.

You will lead a team of meat cutters, ensuring they are properly trained and following all safety and sanitation guidelines.


Responsibilities:


  • Cut, bone, trim meat
  • Ensure product meets company standards
  • Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment
- ensure safe equipment handling: guards in place, equipment is in good working condition

  • Cut and prepare meats to specification or customer's orders
  • Arrange cuts of meat and place them in an attractive manner in the display case ensuring customer appeal
  • Maintain and clean the cutting room including equipment to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines
  • Manage the daytoday operations of the meat cutting department
  • Oversee the work of meat cutters, ensuring they are meeting productivity and quality standards
  • Train new employees on proper meat cutting techniques and safety procedures
  • Ensure all meat products are handled and stored properly to prevent contamination
  • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a meat cutting role
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques and equipment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in meat cutting or related field
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations

Pay:
$25.00 per hour
