In accordance with the vision, purpose and values of Island Community Mental Health, client and staff safety is a priority and responsibility shared by everyone at ICMH, as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.


Duties:


  • Prepares and serves meals and snacks in accordance with established menus and recipes;
  • Performs inventory control duties such as storing and rotating food and supplies;
  • Performs cleaning duties such as equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, sinks and counters, kitchen and storage areas such as walls, ovens and freezers, and removing garbage;
  • Washes, scrubs, and rinses pots, pans, dishes, and utensils by hand, dishwasher and/or pot washer;
  • Reports malfunctions and repair requirements to Director of Care;
  • Receives supplies, checks invoices against orders and goods received, stores supplies and updates inventory records;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Typical Education, Training and Experience:


  • Grade 12;
  • Certificates in Foodsafe and First Aid
  • Recent related experience of 2 years

Other Requirements:


  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • Uptodate on Provincial immunization schedules
  • Negative TB Test
  • Clear criminal record check through the Solicitor General

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to deal with others effectively;
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position;
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to operate related equipment;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Salary:
$25.61-$27.31 per hour

Experience:

- cooking: 2 years (preferred)
