Job Summary:


Networks Employment Solutions offers supported Programs that serves people who are experiencing barriers to employment as a result of mental illness or addictions.


As part of an interdisciplinary team, and in accordance with the PSR/RPS Canada Psychosocial Rehabilitation guidelines, the Employment Coach will be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the IPS Supported Employment program.

The Employment Coach ensures services are developed according to strategic priorities and are delivered within a person-centered approach. Maintaining health and safety standards, including psychological safety, at all locations where program services are offered.


The Employment Coach will support clients to maintain their employment in the community and improve their experience through ongoing support, coaching, and education of client and employer.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Interviews clients to identify interests, skills, suitability and job readiness.
  • Locates prospective employers in the community appropriate to clients' work profiles by following up on referrals, making cold calls, networking, and developing partnerships with government recruiting bodies and employment programs.
  • Markets supported employment programs to prospective employers and develop related promotional materials.
  • Evaluates available employment, matches clients in accordance with client work profiles and abilities, as well as markets clients to employers to secure employment.
  • Assists clients to become job ready by providing coaching in employmentrelated areas, such as work skills, job search, resume preparation, and interview skills.
  • Provides job and labour market information and identifies employment barriers.
  • Follows up with clients and employers to monitor the quality of placements. Assist employers to work with clients by providing education and information and negotiating accommodations, where appropriate.
  • Ensures close and ongoing communication with case managers and/or other appropriate professionals through regular contact (e.g. attending case and team meetings as agreed) in order to integrate vocational goals into mental health treatment.
  • Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as reports on clients' skill levels and progress towards goals and objectives.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:


Qualifications:


Education, Training and Experience:


  • Diploma in Community Social Services
  • Recent, related experience of three years or equivalent combination of education and training experience
  • Recent experience with mental health, substance use issues and harm reduction
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Adults)
  • Training in Suicide Prevention, Harm Reduction, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Motivational Interviewing are considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 BC Drivers license, use of one's own vehicle
