The role of the Client Services Representative, Clerks is to provide front-line customer service in person, over the phone and online.
This includes acting as a Deputy Division Registrar, acting as a Lottery Licensing Issuer and receiving By-law enforcement complaints. This role is also responsible for delivering, picking up internal and external mail.The Client Services Representative, Clerks is responsible in ensuring the proper execution of the following:
- Answer all incoming telephone calls, receive/respond and direct visitors at City Hall, respond to information, complaints and direction requests
- Act as Deputy Division Registrar for documents required under the Vital Statistics Act, register Deaths, issue Marriage Licences and maintain files for Vital Statistics in accordance to Provincial Legislation
- Receive and prepare Lottery Licences to qualified organizations as outlined by provincial legislation under the Ontario Gaming and Alcohol Act
- Responsible for cash handling and balancing for all types of payments from cash, interact and credit transactions and data entry
- Deliver and sort all internal and external mail to Departments, Council Members, various agencies, banks and businesses located throughout the City
- Assist with Municipal Elections
- Post secondary education in business or administrative studies, related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Patient, empathetic and ability to ask probing questions to seek winwin solutions with the public
- Proven problemsolving skills and ability to process multiple sources of information with strong organizational skills
- Able to obtain and maintain appointment of Commissioner of Oaths for Affidavits and Statutory Declarations;
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrate strong computer skills in Office 36 valid unrestricted driver's license
- Bilingualism in French and English
The City of Cornwall offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $29.66, 35 hours per week, plus a comprehensive benefits package and OMERS pension.
