Assistant Purchaser - Woodstock, Canada - Stubbe's Workforce Inc

_Are you ready to join a team that pushes the boundaries of innovation through strategic procurement? We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team_
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Purchasing Assistant will assist with sourcing, ordering, receiving and distributing of both incoming and outgoing goods.
_ What you'll do:
_
- Assist Purchasing department with ordering and receiving of goods
- Review purchase requisitions from various departments
- Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system and/or hardcopy files
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents (in accordance with company policies and procedures)
- Approve purchase invoices for payment
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure ontime delivery
- Distribute goods to appropriate requestors and/or locations
- Maintain paper files of shipping documents, ensuring all shipments contain proper documentation
- Assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries as needed
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Physically handle and distribute packages up to 50lbs
- Unloading of trucks and handling heavy and/or akward loads using a forklift
- Other duties as assigned
_ What you'll need:
_
- High school diploma or GED
- Understanding of the production process is an asset
- Forklift Experience
- Some experience with steel or concrete considered an asset
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Good documentation, coordination, and analytical skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of team
- Strong time management skills, with an ability to multitask and prioritize
- Strong organizational skills
