Adult Fitness & Lifestyle Coordinator
(0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week, evenings & weekends)
- Combine your passion for fitness with your organization and collaboration skill as the Adult Fitness and Lifestyle (AFL) Coordinator with the Y You will contribute to a team focused on creating positive and safe fitness experiences in your community. You will support strategies aimed at improving member experience and retention through the delivery of excellent fitness programs and outstanding service quality in the Fitness Centre.
- With the support of your supervisor, you will further develop your leadership skills by helping to coordinate the daytoday operations of the Fitness Centre. You will contribute to the longterm success of the team by supporting the development of staff and recruiting exceptional new team members.

Position Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, wellmaintained, and organized fitness centre for our participants
- Ensure YMCA service standards for Adult Fitness & Lifestyle are consistently met
- Take an active role in resolving service challenges and customer issues
- Assist the supervisor with team leadership and new hires
- Responsible for the timely completion of administrative duties for efficient Fitness Centre operations (equipment maintenance and upkeep, inventory, cleaning schedules, staff and volunteer forms, certification tracking, etc.)
- Act as the area Health and Safety representative; responsible for the completion of monthly Health & Safety inspections, audits, and emergency checklists
- Teach group fitness classes or perform personal training sessions as required
- Serve as Duty Manager and Wellness Coach as scheduled
- Support the department, branch, and association in implementing and achieving goals
What You'll Need for This Job
- Current personal training certification through the YMCA, CSEP, CanFitPro, ISSA or AFLCA and previous experience conducting personal training is required
- Postsecondary education in a related field (physical education, personal training, or exercise science) is considered an asset
- Current group fitness certification through the YMCA, AFLCA or CanFitPro is considered an asset
- At least 2 years of experience in a recreation facility is considered an asset
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C is required
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check
