Description

Respite Support Home Providers are required for adults with developmental disabilities.

The right home would provide a positive atmosphere, a willingness to include the individual in your everyday life, supporting the individual to develop their personal identity and self expression, acceptance of self and encourage the individual to enhance their self determination skills. Additionally, they would also support the individual with daily living skills which may include but is not limited to, day to day activities, personal care, and hygiene, promoting health and safety, cooking, recreation, spiritual, socialization, community awareness and access,

Must be able to provide respite in your own home over a 24-48-hour period.

Respite Care Provider

Requirements:


  • Have a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check done for all adults (18+) in your home.**
  • Have or be willing to obtain their First Aid with CPR

- Have or willing to get and maintain 2 million liability insurance on vehicle and home.

- Have a spare bed in a room for the individual you will be supporting. To provide 24-hour supervision and care.

- Available weekends and occasionally during the week to provide respite, with some flexibility to meet the needs of the client and proprietor.

- Be organized and detailed orientated with a willingness to accept guidance and training.

Respite rate of pay $195/ night. Paid out monthly.

Additionally, Proprietors provide $30/ day Room & board (on the dates of respite)
