Position Summary:


The Manager, Accounting Services is responsible for the billing of aeronautical, airport improvement fees and commercial revenue by utilizing industry specific billing software.

In addition, the administration of receivable collection is managed through Oracle financials and in accordance with established accounting principles, financial controls, policies and objectives.

The role also establishes and manages the collection strategy risk and policy related to the organization's customers.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Lead revenue billing function to ensure timely, accurate billing of all revenue types.
  • Validate and approve the billing records against tenant leases, confirm airline flight records and maintain current rates. Ensure that appropriate taxes are applied to billing transactions. Establish and foster relationships across the organization to develop and maintain billing practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely billing ensures that the organization is able to generate cash flow to fund operations and investments.
  • Implement pricing strategies in accordance with GTAA strategic plan.
  • Allows the business to bill transactions that are supported, accurate and credible. Quality billing impacts the reputation of the organization.
  • Lead all aspects of reconciliations of A/R subledger and G/L, management of deferred revenues, security deposits (sufficiency)
  • Handle the Credit and Collections strategy and risk associated with GTAA customers
  • Managing credit and collections protects company assets and reputation. It allows the organization to realize strategic financial goals.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures (Accounts Receivable credit policy, writeoff policy, Accounts Receivable collection procedures and Accounts Receivable/Revenue Billing adjustment procedures).
  • Develop policies and process improvements around standard methodologies to ensure consistency in processing and managing transactions.
  • Drive strategic clarity by helping people understand how the work contributes to the overall vision

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary degree in Business and/or 10 years of combined equivalent work experience and education
  • 5 years of experience in revenue billing for organizations with many diverse revenue streams
  • 5 years of credit and collection experience with 2 or more years of managerial/leadership experience included
  • Completion of or progression towards Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) would be an asset
  • Experience working with a large ERP financial system
  • 5 years of experience in People Management (direct report or crossfunctional)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Able to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
