Position Overview:
Active Lives Canada is seeking a dedicated and organized Supervisor to oversee the Day Program and Respite Program. The Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and smooth operation of these programs.
This individual will be responsible for HR management, participant recruitment, program coordination, collaboration with external agencies, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Management:
The Supervisor will lead HR efforts by overseeing staff onboarding, training, and ensuring staff members are up-to-date with required courses.
Utilizing HR Downloads, the Supervisor will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and promote a positive work environment.Participant Recruitment and Advertising:
The Supervisor will actively contribute to bringing new participants to the organization.
This includes developing and executing advertising strategies, fostering community partnerships, and engaging with local school boards and private schools to facilitate smooth transitions for new participants.
Program Coordination:
The Supervisor will provide strong leadership to ensure the efficient operation of the Day Program, Respite Program, and the Respite House.
This involves overseeing
the Active Lives coordinator and making sure that the coordinator has created activities, and is implementing strategies to enhance program effectiveness.
Collaboration with Agencies:
The Supervisor will collaborate with external agencies to increase the organization's clientele.
This entails building partnerships, participating in networking opportunities, and leveraging resources to expand the reach of the Day Program and Respite House.
Community Engagement:
Working in conjunction with the Coordinator, the Supervisor will establish new community partnerships that align with the mission of the organization.
This will involve creating opportunities for adults with Exceptionalities to work and volunteer within the community, fostering integration and inclusivity.
Transition Support:
The Supervisor, in partnership with the Coordinator, will ensure a seamless transition for participants from local schools and private institutions into the organization.
This involves coordinating with schools, providing support to participants, and creating a welcoming environment.File Maintenance:
The Supervisor will uphold accurate record-keeping practices by ensuring that all participant and staff files are up-to-date. This includes documentation of progress, attendance, and any relevant information required for compliance and program evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, etc.)
- Previous experience in program coordination and management, preferably in the field of disability support or community services.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with external agencies.
- Proficiency in HR management, including onboarding and compliance.
- Familiarity with marketing and advertising strategies is an asset.
Salary:
$23.00-$25.00 per hour

Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
Language:
- English (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Smart Serve (preferred)
Shift availability:
- Night Shift (preferred)
