Overview:

SOMA is looking for a
Report Editor (12 Month Contract) (internally called a Quality Assurance Coordinator) to join our team


The
Report Editor is responsible to ensure
medical reports are completed at the highest level of quality and integrity and in full compliance with client contractual agreement, regulatory agency standards and/or federal and state mandates.

This position is required to handle quality assurance questions and provide overall support to the Quality Assurance Department.

The schedule for this role is standard Monday-Friday.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of the insurance industry preferably claims management relative to one or more of the following categories
:
workers' compensation, no-fault, liability, and/or disability
preferred.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possesses a working knowledge of medical terminology and medical disciplines.
  • Must possess excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation and style.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of medical legal aspects of medical records and health information principles.
  • Detailoriented and organized.
  • Prioritizes workload according to timelines depending on case type and referral source.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills and ability to manage complex cases.
  • Possesses complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone systems.
  • Demonstrates efficient keyboarding skills.
  • Analyzes problems involving multiple interrelated causes. Where necessary, gathers information and applies complex concepts or methods to generate an effective solution.
  • Knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and the Internet.
  • Able to follow instructions and respond to upper managements' directions accurately.
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities:


  • Performs quality assurance review of I
    ME reports and correspondence with a keen eye for errors, omissions and inconsistencies with respect to grammar and content.
  • Ensures all timelines are met according to individual Client SLAs.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools and resources, as needed, to achieve expected goals within the required timeframes.
  • Communicates with intake and meddoc departments to ensure clarity of referral information and supplementary documentation.
  • Communicates with assessors in regards to edits requests, report timelines, and additional records, among others while maintaining an objective and unbiased approach.
  • Performs customer service by consulting with referral source as necessary to clarify referral needs, request additional information, provide case status updates, etc.
  • Assists in resolution of customer complaints and quality assurance issues as needed.
  • Maintains documentation of all case related correspondence.
  • Participates in various educational and or training activities as required.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures in order to provide advice and guidance.
