JOB TITLE:
Quality Assurance Lab Specialist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports trial and pre-production activity leading to full part approval (through the development and detailed document preparation of all trial part scans or as required).
- Establish a sound and proficient system to perform Checking Fixture calibration and verification using the 3D scanner (HandySCAN 3D Black).
- Establish a schedule for all measurement tools to be calibrated within a specified time frame.
- Order, repair and maintain measurement tools.
- Maintain the QA Lab in an organized condition and stocked with the necessary consumables (5S - Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
- Ensure perpetual compliance to documented quality system documentation.
- Support functions enabling them to provide sound, confident judgement for part quality related enquiries both internally and externally.
- Assemble critical metrics from scanned data, analyze using appropriate tools to identify trends and report to Management on a periodic basis.
- Facilitates and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and measure effectiveness of company internal processes and suggest and implement improvements regularly.
- Support QA Management as required.
- Other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
- Post-Secondary diploma/degree from a Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency with 3D CAD modeling, 2D drawings.
- Fluent in GD&T.
- Proficient with
VX Model Software,
PolyWorks (Inspector Software) and
SolidWorks. - Familiarity with automotive regulatory requirements.
- Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent metrology skills with current technology.
- Strong background in quality management systems (ISO9001, TS16949).
- Experience with gage calibration, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, corrective action, control plans, document control.
- High attention to detail.
- Technical savvy.
- Commitment, adaptability and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Work independently without appreciable direction.
SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday
SHIFT:
- Two (2) week rotational cycle including occasional O/T requirements that may be required during the week and/or on weekends
