ASSISTANT PAYROLL SPECIALIST - ONE YEAR CONTRACT POSITION


SEG Products Canada develops, manufactures, and distributes a wide range of products in the consumer appliance category including a portfolio of heated bedding, cooling fans, garment care appliances, and a collection of soft goods to major retailers throughout Canada and USA.

This is a maternity leave contract for a period of 10-12 months.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Download Payroll Reports and ROE's
  • Manage and maintain employee profiles (US & Canada)
  • Manage and maintain Term/Hire List
  • Enroll or terminate employees with RRSP and Insurance Benefits
  • Remit 401K and reconcile RRSP
  • Reconcile Benefits invoice (US & Canada)
  • Upload payroll GL
  • Draft employee confirmation letters
  • Transfer funds for payroll submission via bank
  • Reconcile US & CAN tax submissions monthly
  • Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards
  • Working with crossfunctional stakeholders to ensure benefits and payroll services are delivered
  • Expert at meeting deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards
  • Assembling various reports, as requested

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English & French), an asset
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 2+ years prior Canadian payroll experience
  • Must be discreet and have experience dealing with confidential information
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Attentive to detail and strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Salary to reflect experience. Work week is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 - 17:00.
