ASSISTANT PAYROLL SPECIALIST - ONE YEAR CONTRACT POSITION
SEG Products Canada develops, manufactures, and distributes a wide range of products in the consumer appliance category including a portfolio of heated bedding, cooling fans, garment care appliances, and a collection of soft goods to major retailers throughout Canada and USA.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Download Payroll Reports and ROE's
- Manage and maintain employee profiles (US & Canada)
- Manage and maintain Term/Hire List
- Enroll or terminate employees with RRSP and Insurance Benefits
- Remit 401K and reconcile RRSP
- Reconcile Benefits invoice (US & Canada)
- Upload payroll GL
- Draft employee confirmation letters
- Transfer funds for payroll submission via bank
- Reconcile US & CAN tax submissions monthly
- Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards
- Working with crossfunctional stakeholders to ensure benefits and payroll services are delivered
- Expert at meeting deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards
- Assembling various reports, as requested
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English & French), an asset
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- 2+ years prior Canadian payroll experience
- Must be discreet and have experience dealing with confidential information
- Able to work well under pressure
- Attentive to detail and strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
