Duties:
The project relates to the transition from diesel to electric equipment in the Canadian mining sector.
The student will work with a team of engineers and technicians to better understand energy use from mining mobile equipment.
The work will entail data analysis, modeling, and if possible, field work to gather data from diesel and battery electric vehicles at mine sites.

A covering letter "Your cover letter should be no longer than 1000 words and demonstrate how you have experience or knowledge in statistical analysis and data analysis techniques.

Essential education:
- successfully completed a Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science or other discipline relevant to the position at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
- currently enrolled or willing to enroll at Laurentian University in Sudbury ON as a full-time Master's degree student in Engineering specializing in mining, mechanical, mechatronics or other discipline relevant to the position.
Degree equivalency
Experience:
- The student must have experience in statistical analysis
Note:
In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.

Conditions of employment:
Reliability Status security clearance - As part of this internship, the student will be responsible for their living expenses and accommodations, reside in Sudbury ON and work in collaboration with researchers at Natural Resources Canada.

Each student hired through the Research Affiliate Program (RAP) must meet the security requirements of the position as a condition of employment, and therefore will be asked by the hiring organization to complete security-relevant documents.
