Fresh for Sunset, our new Greenhouse facility in Delta, BC is currently seeking a Grower to join our Greenhouse team.

The essential function of this employee will be to maintain high quality standards and ensure that the overall greenhouse operation runs efficiently and cost effectively.

This individual will take direction from the Head Grower; they will ensure the crop is disease and pest free while producing a high-quality product.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Working with the Labor Manager/Supervisor, plan and direct the crop work.
  • Ensuring that all growing and production processes are carried out and meet quality standards.
  • Developing, monitoring and continuously improving processes to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Knowledgeable with the requirements of Priva and Priva Assist.
  • Oversee yearly crop clean out and new crop planting in areas as needed.
  • Ability to recognize and report problems with equipment, building structure and crops as needed.
  • Ongoing communication with production team / various departments as required.
  • Training personnel as required.
  • Ability to seek out employee strengths and utilize them accordingly.
  • Ensure workstation and overall greenhouse cleanliness.
  • Carry out Employee Performance Reviews as established by company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • To supervise and support the IPM program.
  • Assist with fertilization, irrigation and climate control needs (computermanaged actions).
  • Crop and climate registration and interpretation of measured data.
  • Availability for night and weekend duty (from remote site) to monitor alarms set by plant.
  • Perform/track soil, water, disease tests as needed.
  • Facilitating trials on new products prior to commercial use within the farm.
  • Maintaining up to date records and reports.
  • Adherence and assistance to all Food Safety & Health and Safety program requirements and policies.

Education/Background Requirements:


  • At least three years' experience in hydroponic growing required.
  • Horticulture/Greenhouse certification required.
  • Pesticide license required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledgeable of horticultural pests and disease identification.
  • First Aid Certification or ability to be trained.
  • Related work experience with pesticide license.
  • Well organized and a selfstarter.
  • Good communicator verbal/written.
  • A passion for growing agriculture commodities.
  • Reporting and managing skills.
  • Capacity to be a flexible and enthusiastic team player.
  • Excellent record keeping and analytical skills.
  • Selfmotivated with a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work independently with mínimal supervision.

Working Conditions:


  • Greenhouse Environment, where the temperature averages 70°F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
