Ris/pacs Support - Toronto, Canada - St. Michael's Hospital

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to RIS/PACS Administrator
- Monitor daily operations of RIS/PACS integration & system performance
- Archive Management reconcile and fix all exceptions in PACS system
- Ability to learn, understand and troubleshoot computer and network issues
- Provide quality assurance practices for all components of RIS/PACS system
- Test, Maintain and strengthen integration between diverse hospital clinical systems
- Refine and develop RIS/PACS related workflows to improve efficiency in all areas throughout hospital
- Develop and provide training and education to diverse groups within Medical Imaging and hospital wide
- Provide oncall support for radiology information system (RIS) and PACS in urgent situations to ensure images are available for optimum patient care.
- Communicate with vendors as required to ensure problems with various systems are rectified with timely service.
- Communicate with Information Technology department for optimal system responsiveness
- Ensure integrity of patient data is intact when data is manipulated.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues related to DICOM (PACS standard) and HL7 (patient data information standard
- Provide timely and accurate assistance when patient images cannot be viewed.
- Understand and ensure patient data from Radiology Information System populates into modality devices units) correctly
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PACS administrator or Imaging Informatics certificate
- Practical knowledge of general workflow processes of hospital clinical areas and Medical Imaging
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications (verbal/written) skills to bring forward issues and reconcile them in a timely manner
- Able to take direction and work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Understanding and commitment to the Hospital's Mission and Values
- Demonstrated ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner.
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills.
- Ability to meet staff/clinician/patient needs in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Must be flexible, punctual and have an excellent attendance record.
- Must be able to take oncall duties
HOURS: Monday to Friday and oncall on a rotational basis.
