We are looking for a Digital Content Strategist


As a
Digital Content Strategist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the Museum's governance model and content strategy for its public-facing websites and online content.

This includes planning and leading the creation, publication, maintenance and evaluation of compelling digital content for the flagship websites of the Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum, as well as other online platforms, in collaboration with teams across the organization.

Adept at managing multiple priorities, you will also be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining standards, guidelines and tools to ensure the Museum's digital content operations are strategic, coordinated and effective.

The Digital content Strategist will also lead online audience research projects and promote user-centric approaches to digital content creation that align with the Museum's strategic priorities and objectives, including revenue generation.


What we are looking for:


  • Actionoriented and ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills;
  • Effective communication in both official languages and business acumen.

You have five (5) years of combined and relevant experience in:

  • Leading digital content governance and operations for a large-scale website or similar online platform (2 years minimum)
  • Developing, implementing, and managing strategies, guidelines and tools to support the creation, production and delivery of publicfacing digital content that aligns with corporate priorities.
  • Commissioning external suppliers and overseeing their work.
  • Planning and overseeing data analysis and online audience research to inform strategic priorities, recommendations and action plans.

Knowledge of:


  • The digital content lifecycle, including strategy, planning, creation, maintenance, and auditing;
  • Best practices in writing and designing audiencecentric content for the web and other digital platforms;
  • Website governance principles and tools;
  • Content strategy, information architecture, user experience and accessibility; and
  • The arts and cultural sector.
  • The Accessible Canada Act and the Official Languages Act, as well as other relevant acts and policies governing the creation, delivery and retention of publicfacing digital content.

Education:

Post-secondary diploma in field(s) relevant to the role, including Communications, Multimedia and Design, Museology, or Project Management, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in a creative services environment, with an emphasis on digital content strategy.


Compensation:
E6 - $ 71,173 to $ 88,080 (under review)
