Description

As a property field claims advisor, you help serve and maintain business relationships with members and clients for all claims.

You handle, investigate and make decisions on high-complexity property insurance claims. You solve problems using your analytical skills and extensive discipline-specific knowledge.

You draw on your sound decision-making to develop solutions, negotiate claims settlements and enter into agreements with members, clients, third parties and others.

You advise and assist clients, represent Desjardins and enter the organization into important agreements with clients. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential.

More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Provide outstanding experience to our members and clients by guiding them through the claims process and adhering to the Professional Code of Conduct-
  • Engage with various stakeholders to ensure claims are processed smoothly; including contractors, engineers, fire and police departments, independent adjusters etc
  • Propose and negotiate settlements that are equitable for the insured and that respect company policies and authority limits, and that is in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Review construction estimates and discuss the same with clients and contractors to ensure an appropriate understanding of the required work for each claim
  • Attend site inspections to photograph, scope and measure areas affected by each loss. Discuss claim details with clients, contractors and other parties while on site
  • Assist with high volume claim scenarios as needed which may require travel outside of your assigned territory
  • Perform other duties as assigned
