Hours


The expected work hours run 8:00am until 5:00pm on a 10 and 4 schedule (10 days on, 4 days off), from Tuesday until the second Thursday.

Overtime may be required according to business needs. You will be eligible for overtime in accordance with Provincial Legislation.

Job Responsibilities


A construction labourer or construction worker does physical labor on construction sites, with a primary focus on the installation of structural solar material including foundations, solar racking, and PV modules.

Additionally, they may prepare sites by cleaning them, loading or unloading materials, and removing hazards. A general labourer may also run some types of equipment or put together and take apart temporary structures. They are essential to solar construction, building, and environmental remediation.


Duties:


  • Installation, alignment, fastening and commissioning of steel racking
  • Installation and fastening of solar PV modules
  • Mentoring green hands and assisting with training as required
  • Loading and unloading construction materials, & moving them to work areas
  • Assisting heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment
  • Signalling heavy equipment operators to guide them in moving equipment
  • Removing rubbish, recycle and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment
  • Operating manual and powered hand tools
  • Tending or feeding equipment used in construction
  • Oiling and greasing equipment
  • Directing traffic at or near construction sites
Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on a utilityscale solar farm or other relevant experience required
  • Class 5 driver's licence
  • CSTS 2020
  • Ability to pass a fitnesstowork test and appropriate safety training
  • Some knowledge or capacity to learn electrical construction & safety concerns
  • A quality mindset and attention to detail are important
  • Reliable transportation to site
Additional Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting electrical or supervisor colleagues in their tasks where required
