SKILLS and Responsibilities

Must be able to competently operate a counterbalance forklift safely.
Must Supervise all shipping dock employees and truck drivers to ensure all processes are followed and safety rules and regulations are followed.
Must take responsibilities of all training and development for employees in the department.
Takes overall responsibility for completion and accuracy of both loaded deliveries and all forms of paperwork.
Ensures that vehicles including trucks and forklifts are properly maintained and proper records thereof are maintained.
Can operate the unitizer in emergencies.
Schedules all outgoing deliveries 24 hours in advance with efforts to maintain efficiencies, due dates, appointments and committed orders.
Makes all delivery appointments as required.
Schedules all truck and driver resources in addition to our own fleet to ensure efficiency, on time delivery, and commitment processes are met.
Orders all skids and maintains proper accuracy and levels of inventory.
Maintains a clean and safe working area.
Ensures that drivers log, and circle checks are done as required and deals with any issues that may arise from them.
Must diligently follow company procedures.
Must accurately input production data into the computer system.
Liaison between customer service and scheduling to ensure execution.
Is able to proactively problem solve to overcome day to day challenges in execution.
Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels from the production floor, with other department leads, with upper management, and with customers and suppliers.
Communicate with the General Manager any circumstances that may prevent the execution of all the above.
Prepare reports pertaining to department performance in any areas.
Take measures regularly to assist in the reduction of operational costs in shipping.
Any other job function that may be requested by the General Manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending and climbing, every day.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
