    Who we are:

    LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with sales of EUR 6.1 billion in 2021. The company operates in 33 countries and focuses on developing, manufacturing, and marketing chemical intermediates, additives, and consumer protection products.     The Elmira facility is a modern production site dedicated to creating synthetic lubricants and additives for various industries. It features advanced wastewater treatment and groundwater treatment systems, along with a pilot plant for product and process development.

    Situated on 75 acres, the facility runs operations around-the-clock with hourly employees represented by the United Steelworkers Union.

    The West Hill facility, established in 1962, produces Grease and Specialty Additives for different sectors. These products play a crucial role in enhancing machinery performance across industries like food processing, manufacturing, marine, and power generation.

    Both Elmira and West Hill sites adhere to ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

    Job Highlights:

    • Act as a leader to safely complete assigned tasks
    • Collaborate with plant maintenance for servicing production machinery
    • Maintain tools and equipment orderly
    • Understand and interpret technical drawings and manuals
    • Work alongside different crafts, groups, and contractors
    • Obtain permits and ensure compliance with site standards
    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis studies
    • Utilize technology for accurate repairs and maintenance
    • Engage in Failure mode evaluations for equipment reliability
    • Participate in industry-specific safety training

    Requirements:

    • Certified Ontario Industrial Millwright
    • Confined Space Hazards training
    • Experience in safety permitting systems
    • Read and interpret technical drawings
    • Preferably have experience in Chemical Products Manufacturing
    • Comfortable with technology and computer programs

    Contract type: Regular
